The goals of the Global Child Health Group have been subdivided into the following four categories. However, it is important to realise that their projects mainly use an integrated approach, combining the different goals/categories in a project (also see 'Our mission).
|
Education and training
Increasing the expertise of Dutch paediatricians and other doctors in the field of Global Child Health by providing education and training and by organising apprenticeships.
Contributing to capacity building by means of offering education and training in paediatrics to students, physicians and other health workers active in and/or coming from developing countries.
|
Knowledge centre
Setting up a Knowledge Centre that can provide advice, training and guidance in the field of Global Child Health to individuals, national and international organisations and to the Dutch government.
|
Collaborative projects
Developing a paediatric network by setting up collaborative projects in association with universities and institutions in Europa and with institutions in developing countries. The goal is to make the education, training and research projects better and more efficient.
|
Research
Setting up - and participating in - scientific research into significant health problems among children in developing countries, with a view to structurally improve these children’s health.
